As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you will be a key owner of the end-to-end revenue accounting process. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our revenue streams by applying technical accounting knowledge, particularly under ASC 606. This role is instrumental in the order-to-cash cycle, requiring you to interpret complex customer contracts, manage deferred revenue, and collaborate across departments. responsibilities:
- Lead month-end revenue close activities, including the preparation of complex journal entries, deferred revenue reconciliations, and revenue-related analytics.
- Partner closely with Sales, Legal, and Operations teams to review customer contracts and sales orders, ensuring proper revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606.
- Analyze, research, and resolve inconsistencies and discrepancies in revenue-related Balance Sheet accounts, such as Deferred Revenue, Unbilled Receivables, and Contract Assets.
- Maintain and enhance controls over the order-to-cash process.
- Analyze revenue trends, booking data, and performance against forecasts, providing key insights to management.
- Assist in the preparation of revenue-related disclosures for financial reporting and support the annual US GAAP audit, with a specific focus on the revenue cycle.
- Drive process improvements within the revenue accounting function to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist the Controllership with ad-hoc projects related to revenue and billing systems.
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, with a significant focus on revenue recognition.
- Deep understanding and hands-on application of revenue recognition guidance (ASC 606) is required.
- Proven experience with complex revenue streams, deferred revenue schedules, and contract review.
- CPA or CPA progression is highly preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite and its Advanced Revenue Management module is highly preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to think through complex accounting scenarios, implement efficiencies, and document processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
