Specialty Construction company with a 50-year legacy in Wilmington, DE is seeking a proactive, experienced Accountant to become a cornerstone of their finance team! Your primary, and most impactful, responsibility will be managing their weekly payroll for approximately 30 employees, ensuring their dedicated field and office staff are paid accurately and on time, every time!

Responsibilities:
- Own the entire weekly payroll process from start to finish using our "Construction Manager" software.
- Handle all aspects of payroll compliance, with a strong focus on accurate processing of payroll taxes and union dues. Experience with project-based business compliance is a huge advantage!
- Manage the full A/P cycle, monitoring the dedicated A/P inbox and processing a manageable volume of 30-50 invoices per week.
- Support A/R functions, helping to ensure timely cash flow.
- Engage in friendly but firm collections calls at month-end to secure outstanding payments, maintaining positive client relationships.
qualifications:
Experience:
- Significant experience as an Accountant or Bookkeeper with primary responsibility for processing payroll.
- Experience in a construction, manufacturing, or similar project-based business is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with "Construction Manager" or similar construction/project accounting software is a major plus.
- Attention to Detail: An eagle eye for accuracy-you catch what others miss!
