responsibilities:
- Take the lead on supervising journal entries, executing accurate balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Manage the general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate recording of financial transactions in strict compliance with GAAP.
- Supervise the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines and reporting requirements are met efficiently.
- Supervise a small team, providing essential coaching, management, and training to foster high performance and adherence to company standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal controls, applicable gaming laws, Title 31, and federal regulations.
- Actively assist in the development and implementation of initiatives to optimize accounting operations and enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Accounting or a related field is required.
- Minimum 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- At least 1 year in a supervisory role is required.
- Deep understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and demonstrated success managing financial reconciliations and close processes.
- Strong preference for experience within the Hospitality or Gaming industry.
- Excellent communication, strong analytical mindset, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel are required.
