We are seeking a high-level Sr. Accounting Consultant for an immediate project with a healthcare multisite client. The Sr. Accounting Consultant will assist the Controller with the workload and improve processes to stabilize day-to-day operations and lead a critical cleanup of the company's financial records. This project needs a consultant that is able to step in where needed to help out clean-up the historical "messiness" in the books.

responsibilities:
- Balance Sheet Reconstruction: You will reconcile and correct a "messy" QuickBooks balance sheet where current totals are immediately identifiable as incorrect.
- Year-End & Walk-Forward: Assist with the 2024 year-end closing and walk-forward the balance sheet to ensure accuracy for the current period.
- Process Stabilization: Address issues where QuickBooks is not locked down, leading to activity occurring 60 days post-close that alters financial information.
- Day-to-Day Operations: Manage the daily accounting functions and fill the Senior Accountant gap to free up the Finance Director.
- Controls Implementation: Establish necessary internal controls that are currently lacking or insufficient.
qualifications:
- Accounting Consulting proven track record in "cleanup" environments.
- Experience Level: Must have roughly 3+ years of management-level experience (specifically at the Controller or Senior Manager level) to potentially transition into the permanent Controller role if turnover occurs.
- Technical Skills: Expert-level command of QuickBooks is a must-have; experience with NetSuite is a plus as a future migration is anticipated.
- Focus: Must be a "Balance Sheet" specialist rather than an Income Statement specialist.
- Attributes: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, family-office-backed environment.
