Most Project Accounting roles are about maintenance-running the same reports and fixing the same manual errors every month. This is not that role. We are a high-growth leader, scaling rapidly through acquisitions. As we grow, our "old" ways of manual Excel workbooks and disconnected data won't cut it. We need a Project Accounting Manager who is part Accountant, part Detective, and part Systems Architect to build a scalable, automated engine for our project lifecycle.
location: Plano, Texas
job type: Permanent
salary: $110,000 - 145,000 per year
work hours: 8 to 5
education: Bachelor's degree
experience: 5 Years
responsibilities:
Why you want this job:
- The "Clean Slate" Opportunity: You aren't inheriting a perfect system; you are building one. You will own the data flow between CRM and NetSuite, moving us away from "copy-paste" accounting into automated, high-level reporting.
- Authority Over Logic: You will be the organization's Subject Matter Expert (SME). When there is a discrepancy between a complex tiered contract and what actually happened in the field, you are the final word.
- A "Seat at the Table": You aren't buried in the back office. You will act as the direct financial link between Sales, Operations, and the Executive team.
- Build Your Own Team: You will lead and mentor a team of analysts, coaching them to move beyond data entry and into true commercial analysis.
qualifications:
The Profile of the Person Who Wins This Role:
- You speak "Project": You have 5+ years in Construction, Industrial Services, or Large-Scale Installation. You understand that a project isn't just a line item; it's a living lifecycle of costs, yields, and contract logic.
- You are a Power User: You think in Power Query, Data Modeling, and Logic Strings. You'd rather spend three hours building a fail-safe automation than ten minutes doing a manual task twice.
- You are a Detective: You have a "Green Flag" mindset-you don't just look at the variance; you go back to the original source documents (contracts, scale tickets, work orders) to find the truth.
- The Credentials: Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance (CPA/MBA is a plus, but your ability to solve complex logic puzzles is what matters most).
- The Bottom Line: If you are tired of being a "number cruncher" and want to be the person who defines how a national organization tracks its success, let's talk.
skills: Cost Accounting, Leadership, FP&A / Modeling
Equal Opportunity Employer: Race, Color, Religion, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, National Origin, Age, Genetic Information, Disability, Protected Veteran Status, or any other legally protected group status.
