We are working closely with a privately held organization in the CPG spce that is seeking an experienced Controller to serve as a key partner to the CFO and help support the strength, structure, and performance of the accounting function.
This is a hands-on leadership role for an established Controller who can provide technical depth, operational insight, and guidance to an accounting team through influence and experience rather than direct supervisory responsibility.

responsibilities:
Responsibilities - Lead and actively participate in the monthly and year-end close processes - Oversee general ledger integrity, reconciliations, and financial reporting accuracy - Strengthen internal controls and support process improvements - Provide financial analysis and insights to support leadership decision-making - Support budgeting, forecasting, and working capital visibility - Partner closely with the CFO on systems, reporting enhancements, and operational initiatives - Coordinate with external partners on audit, tax, compliance, and transaction-related matters - Provide mentorship, structure, and guidance across the accounting environment - Support payroll oversight to ensure accuracy, controls, and compliance - Assist with financial integration, due diligence support, and accounting considerations related to acquisitions and strategic transactions
qualifications:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
- Significant experience serving in a Controller or equivalent senior accounting leadership role
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience in distribution Working knowledge of payroll processes, controls, and related compliance considerations - Exposure to mergers & acquisitions activities such as due diligence, integration, or transaction support is strongly preferred
- Experience working with ERP-based accounting platforms and strong Excel skills
