Tatum Consulting has an immediate need for an Interim Controller. This consultant will work on-site in the Katy, Texas office. This consultant will be working for a mid-sized distribution company in West Houston looking for an Interim Controller to lead their accounting functions for the next 2 to 4 months. In this role, you will keep our daily financial operations running smoothly and guide our small, dedicated accounting team during a transitional time in the department:

responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP/AR, general ledger, and cash flow management.
- Lead the month-end close process and prepare financial statements.
- Manage inventory accounting, costing, and reconciliations.
- Provide direct leadership and support to our small accounting team.
- Partner with company leadership to deliver clear financial insights.
qualifications:
- Must have strong MS Excel
- 5+ years of experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller with preference for background in distribution, logistics, or inventory-heavy industries.
- Strong, hands-on knowledge of inventory accounting and ERP systems.
- A collaborative, detail-oriented leader who thrives in a small-team environment.
- Ability to commit to a 2-4 month, full-time, in-office assignment in West Houston.
- Active CPA or CMA is a plus, but proven experience is our priority.
