Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be key to ensuring the accurate and timely closing of the books, monthly financial reporting, annual budgeting, financial analysis, and compliance with company policies and procedures. The Staff Accountant assists in preparing financial statements that adhere to standard GAAP guidelines, keeping all accounting and financial processes aligned with industry standards while maintaining strong financial reporting and internal controls. The ideal candidate brings hands-on accounting experience from fast-paced private or public company environments and possesses a deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Assist with monthly financial close, including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and reviewing financial statements (bank reconciliations/treasury support, fixed assets, ASC 842 lease accounting, expense classification reviews, payroll entries, debt accounting, and accrued expenses).
- Manage and complete cross-functional accounting projects independently, from initial scoping through execution and documentation.
- Provide audit support by supplying documentation and answering auditor inquiries during annual audits.
- Support acquisition accounting, including opening balance sheet preparation, purchase price allocation, integration of acquired entity financials, and post-close true-ups.
- Maintain and uphold internal financial controls and guidelines.
- Support the Accounts Payable team with the monthly closing process.
- File monthly sales and use taxes accurately and on time.
- Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies.
- Perform other related accounting and finance duties as assigned.
qualifications:
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA designation required.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Background in public accounting is preferred.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting principles.
