responsibilities:
As our Flavor Lab Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in our flavor development and applications process. You will support our team by preparing samples, conducting sensory evaluations, maintaining cleanliness of the lab, and coordinating with other departments to meet project timelines. The selected candidate must have a keen sensory acuity, attention to detail, and the ability to conduct precise and accurate work within the laboratory setting while being agile and inclusive in a team environment. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Sample Preparation: Prepare and compound flavor samples for applications in various food and beverage products based on assigned projects.
- Sensory Evaluations : Set up sensory evaluations to help validate flavor samples and standardize our flavor inventory.
- Lab Maintenance : Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lab, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols. Properly manage and dispose of chemicals and materials according to safety guidelines.
- Documentation : Accurately document procedures and experimental results, maintaining stringent record-keeping practices.
- Quality Control: Assist with quality control tasks, such as verifying raw materials, ensuring consistent flavor production, and conducting routine maintenance checks on lab equipment.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with different departments to meet deadlines and support new product development efforts.
qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor or Associate degree in Food Science, Chemistry or similar relevant field.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety protocols in the lab.
- Previous experience working in a lab environment, preferably within the food and beverage industry.
- Interest in food and beverage trends, new products, and sensory science is a plus.
