Responsible for performing a variety of routine laboratory functions with precision and accuracy to directly support professional laboratory staff. This role is critical in facilitating efficient operations and optimizing production workflows within the lab environment.

responsibilities:
- Specimen Handling & Preparation: Accurately sort, receive, centrifuge, aliquot, and prepare specimens for testing, including building worklists, checking for clots/fibrin, inoculation, and slide preparation. Manage specimen storage and retrieval.
- Laboratory Support & Maintenance: Perform routine instrument maintenance, prepare reagents and media, and change gas cylinders as needed.
- Quality Assurance & Data Management: Conduct assigned QA/QC duties, record data (e.g., temperature charts), and maintain department records and files.
- Problem Resolution: Effectively resolve pending lists and locate missing samples.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all PPE requirements and safety regulations, including decontaminating work areas and performing weekly radioactive wipe tests. Safely dispose of biohazardous materials.
- Technical Proficiency: Utilize the laboratory computer system and operate PCs for various tasks.
- Professional Development: Complete all required training and competency checklists.
qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some hands on lab experience preferred
- Medical assistant training helpful
- Math and science courses preferred
skills: GLP (Good Laboratory Practice)
