- As a Pre-Analytical Assistant I, you will be responsible for providing general support to the Technical Operations Department. This involves a variety of hands-on tasks, including specimen sorting, handling, and delivery, as well as data entry. The ideal candidate is a proactive and organized team player with a strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn and adapt to new processes. This role requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.

responsibilities:
- Learn and perform a variety of manual functions, including sorting, racking, centrifuging, and aliquoting specimens.
- Pick up and deliver specimens to the laboratory and ensure proper storage.
- Identify and resolve problems with specimens, such as missing information or incorrect specimen types.
- Research and apply compliance policies related to test ordering using computer systems and directories.
- Maintain accurate and legible written documentation within assigned time frames.
- Meet quality and production standards within six months of completing training.
- Collaborate with team members and support departmental goals, including staffing needs on weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
- Perform all tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
- Work in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all safety and compliance policies.

Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior experience in a production environment is preferred.
- Previous medical background, including knowledge of medical terminology, is a plus
- Familiarity with mainframe computers is preferred
