The Clinical Laboratory Associate (CLA) role is a 6-month contract position for the Accessioning Department in Durham, NC, with a strong possibility of extension and conversion. The primary responsibility is to manage the initial stages of sample processing within a high-volume CLIA laboratory. This involves the receipt, triage, and accessioning of patient samples, a critical first step that demands a high degree of attention to detail and efficient work performance.

responsibilities:
- Sample Handling: Unpack and accession patient samples into the LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), including troubleshooting issues and errors.
- Production Goals: Prioritize workload to meet daily throughput and quality KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
- Laboratory Support: Perform equipment maintenance, manage inventory, monitor temperatures, and assist with documentation like SOPs.
- Quality & Safety: Report concerns about test quality or safety to management and assist in identifying process improvement opportunities.
- Troubleshooting: Document all corrective actions when test systems deviate from established specifications.

Required:
- Previous experience in a lab/clinical lab or a high-volume production environment (e.g., Amazon).
- Candidates must have a strong attendance record and communication skills.
- Comfortability handling blood samples and performing routine, repetitive work is necessary.
- Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may also be required.
