- The Medical Billing Intake Support contractor will be responsible for obtaining, entering and auditing information required to successfully collect payment for the Company's diagnostic test. They will also be responsible for following up with patients to collect missing payment information. This position requires excellent attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multitask, flexibility regarding tasks and schedule and the ability to work independently as well as within a highly-collaborative team environment. It requires patience, respect for others, compassion and positivity.
- This role is a full-time (Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm) temporary position required to be on-site 5 days per week in Durham office.

responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Accessioning Team to collect credit card payment information for patient-bill accessions and process payment with our billing vendor
- Initiate outbound communication with patients to resolve issues related to payment information.
- Initiate outbound communication through the Salesforce platform to expeditiously resolve issues related to billing, and other missing information required.
- Demonstrate ownership of each customer interaction, seeing all cases through to completion.
- Accurately document all customer interactions in Company's customer relationship management (CRM) software.
- Successfully navigate Company's laboratory information management system (LIMS) to identify accessions that are missing payment and other information.
- Ensure proper completion of assigned tasks during scheduled working hours.
qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- A minimum of 2 years medical billing experience in the laboratory or in a closely-related field
- Strong communication skills, the hiring manager really values soft skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong computer literacy
- Technical computer proficiency (Google Docs, Google Sheets etc.)
