Medallion Labs seeks a Lab Technician to provide accurate and timely microbiological analyses. This position will involve coordination and execution of daily microbial testing of food products for one or more attributes. In our labs, we receive samples from two sources: regular GMI ingredients or products submitted by R&D, FSQ, and the supply chain, and consumer products submitted by external clients of Medallion Labs. The position requires significant attention to detail , excellent organizational skills, and flexibility, depending on workload.

Key Accountabilities:
- Provide support and flexibility related to the analysis of samples for Medallion Labs
- Deliver on time delivery for microbiological analyses
- Document results and review data
- Investigate any technical discrepancies on a timely basis
- Develop a strong knowledge of the analytical methods being used to analyze samples
- Maintain world-class lab safety environment that complies with all GMI and Medallion safety rules
qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. in microbiology, food science, biology, or related field
- 1-3 years' Experience in food microbiology
- Basic lab skills including aseptic technique, pipetting, and serial dilutions
- Confident in troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Significant attention to detail, multitasking, and organizational skills
- Strong technical background and hands on experience with lab operations preferred
- High individual energy with very strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage in Productive Discourse
- Leadership experience with good decision making
- Experience working in an ISO 17025 accredited microbiology lab
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently organize workload and maintain proper documentation
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrates Engaging Leader Traits
- PC skills-proficiency with Word, Excel and LIMS preferred
- Must be flexible to work with changing business priorities and schedules
