Title: Lab Technician II

responsibilities:
- Microbial Testing: Perform microbial content evaluations on raw materials, bulk products, and filled units for sales, test markets, and consumer returns.
- Data Integrity: Ensure accurate evaluation, interpretation, and timely recording of all test results and reports within Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Contamination Control: Identify microorganisms and determine microbial content in products and components to ensure safety and compliance.
- Environmental Monitoring: Conduct microbiological sampling and testing of DI water systems and perform routine environmental monitoring of the lab space.
- Laboratory Stewardship: Monitor, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment; manage inventory levels and verify the receipt of essential supplies.
- Safety & Compliance: Autoclave and dispose of laboratory-generated waste in strict accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and GLP guidelines.
- Media Preparation: Prepare culture media used specifically for the evaluation of cosmetics and Over-the-Counter (OTC) products.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrate resourcefulness in proactively identifying potential issues and proposing technical solutions to the Lab Manager.
qualifications:
Required:
- Education: Bachelor's degree (BS) in Microbiology, Biology, or a closely related scientific field.
- Technical Skills: Strong laboratory fundamentals with proven experience in aseptic techniques.
- Compliance: A solid understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across various R&I departments.
- Mindset: Highly organized and flexible, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Experience: 1-5 years of professional experience in a regulated laboratory environment (Cosmetics, Pharma, or Biotech).
- Systems: Hands-on experience reporting and analyzing data within a LIMS environment.
- Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with the testing requirements for OTC products and topical formulations.
