responsibilities:
- Technical Specimen Support: Perform essential functions including centrifugation, aliquoting, imaging/microfilming, and presorting specimens with confidence and speed.
- Logistics & Distribution: Manage the physical pickup and delivery of processed specimens to various laboratory departments to meet strict completion times.
- High-Volume Data Entry: Process test orders into the laboratory system with a target of 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.
- Compliance & Knowledge: Learn and apply complex regulations related to specimen types and test ordering, adapting to daily changes in compliance protocols.
- Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized workstation within a biohazard environment, strictly adhering to all safety and PPE policies.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all functions are performed with the highest accuracy to maintain customer satisfaction and laboratory integrity.

Required:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency and a strong background in data entry.
- Physical Ability: Able to sit or stand for long periods and walk significant distances (up to 18 miles per shift) within the production floor.
- Reliability: Must be able to work the night shift (standard hours 1:30 AM - 9:30 AM) and maintain flexibility as start times may vary slightly based on specimen volume.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to adapt to changing daily demands.
- Experience: Previous experience in a high-volume production environment, warehouse, or clinical laboratory.
- Medical Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology or clinical laboratory specimen processing.
- Background: Prior hospital laboratory experience is a significant plus.
- Standard Shift: 1:30 AM to 9:30 AM (Night Shift).
- Flexibility: Weekend, holiday, on-call, and overtime availability are required based on staffing needs and specimen volume.
