responsibilities:
- Laboratory Foundations: Perform critical support functions including the preparation of media, reagents, and standard solutions; manage the collection, cleaning, and sterilization of glassware.
- Analytical Testing: Conduct routine qualitative analysis of samples and assist higher-level scientific personnel with data collection and preparation for evaluation.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate notebooks and records in strict accordance with SOPs, GMPs, and regulatory policies to ensure data integrity and quality.
- Operational Efficiency: Proactively monitor and stock laboratory supplies and equipment to prevent testing delays; prioritize daily workloads to meet strict deadlines.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Uphold gold-standard housekeeping practices to minimize contamination and safety hazards; assist in the safe handling of hazardous materials and waste.
- Problem Identification: Learn to identify and evaluate atypical or Out-of-Specification (OOS) results, immediately escalating findings to the Supervisor for further investigation.
- Professional Growth: Collaborate with senior technicians to learn advanced techniques and instrumentation, showing versatility and a commitment to team success.
qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 0-1 years of experience in a laboratory or highly regulated environment.
- Basic mathematical and computer skills (MS Word, Excel).
- Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, with flexibility for overtime as needed.
- Physical Resilience: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform lifting as required in a lab setting.
- Allergen Awareness: Comfort working in an environment exposed to powders, chemicals, and common food allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, etc.).
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or a closely related scientific discipline.
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to remain calm under the pressure of tight deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for drafting simple correspondence and reporting results.
