Key Responsibilities
- Microbial Analysis: Prepare and analyze food products, raw ingredients, and environmental samples for pathogens, indicator organisms, and probiotics.
- Aseptic Technique: Maintain the highest standards of aseptic technique in all work conducted to ensure sample integrity and prevent cross-contamination.
- Quality Documentation: Meticulously document all sample preparations, quality control checks, and analytical activities in compliance with laboratory standards.
- Technical Execution: Accurately execute approved testing methodologies and interpret results to support rapid turnaround times and data-driven decisions.
- Continuous Learning: Actively participate in specialized training programs to master increasingly complex microbiological tasks and laboratory workflows.
- Operational Support: Support daily laboratory maintenance and safety protocols to ensure a seamless, high-throughput testing environment.

Required:
- Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Microbiology, Biology, or a related Life Science field.
- Technical Skills: Foundational knowledge of aseptic techniques and basic microbiological laboratory practices.
- Physical Capabilities: Full manual dexterity for precise tasks, color vision and depth perception for reading results, and the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Soft Skills: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume research setting with a strong focus on accuracy and goal attainment.
- Availability: Ability to work Monday-Friday (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) on-site, with flexibility for 2-3 hours of overtime or weekend work as business needs dictate.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in a commercial food testing or analytical laboratory.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO 17025 standards or Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
- Domain Expertise: General experience in testing for specific foodborne pathogens and indicator organisms.
