As a Food Scientist, you will provide support to the Research and Development team. This role is under limited supervision, leads the design, planning, validation, implementation of new products, line extensions, product improvement and technical services for that meet product offering requirements.

Position Responsibilities:
- Collaborate cross-functionally to execute product development from bench to production scale for new products, product improvements, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Define formulation, nutritional, and process parameters to ensure products meet project objectives, with a clear understanding of their impact on overall outcomes.
- Develop raw material, process, and finished product specifications, ensuring accurate setup within corresponding systems.
- Apply sound scientific methodologies throughout all stages of development, including trial planning, data analysis, and solution implementation to meet project goals.
- Identify opportunities to gain competitive advantage through innovation and differentiation.
- Provide expert judgment and apply appropriate levels of technical rigor to support sound business decisions.
- Partner and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Sales, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Finance, Operations, and Engineering.
- Ensure successful technology transfer during product commercialization, providing technical oversight for internal and external manufacturing start-ups and ongoing technical support.
- Make significant and ongoing contributions by applying advanced, specialized knowledge to achieve project success.
- Support and drive pipeline development aimed at cost optimization through formulation and process efficiencies.
- Participate in customer presentations and/or prepare technical content for customer meetings.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, Kosher), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, or a related field.
- Minimum of one year of laboratory experience in a food manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience in auditing quality systems and manufacturing practices, ensuring consistent adherence to documentation requirements that meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Strong understanding of ingredient interactions and functionality.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Solid project management skills with demonstrated experience in leading and executing projects.
- Experience using Microsoft Office.
