responsibilities:
- Specimen Processing: Perform general support functions including sorting, routing, centrifuging, and aliquoting clinical specimens with a high degree of accuracy and confidence.
- High-Speed Data Entry: Input patient and test data efficiently into laboratory computer systems, maintaining a required speed of at least 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.
- Regulatory Compliance: Learn, understand, and rapidly adapt to evolving compliance regulations and specimen requirements related to client test orders.
- Logistics & Material Handling: Manage the pickup and delivery of processed specimens directly to the testing laboratory departments; assist with imaging and microfilming documentation as needed.
- Safety & Environment: Work safely within a biohazard environment, strictly adhering to core company values, safety protocols, PPE requirements, and compliance policies while keeping the work area clean.
- Shift Flexibility: Adapt to changing departmental demands, with primary placement on the nightshift, and maintain availability for weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as dictated by staffing needs.

Required
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical Skills: Basic proficiency with computers and software, with the ability to meet the alphanumeric data entry speed threshold (6,000 keystrokes/hour).
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods within a production laboratory environment.
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, effective communication across all staff levels, and a positive, flexible attitude capable of adapting to daily procedural changes.
- Experience: Previous experience working in a fast-paced production, logistics, or data-entry environment; prior laboratory or medical specimen processing experience is a significant plus.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with a medical background, including basic medical terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory setting.
