The Senior Director of Business Development leads commercial growth across small molecule, large molecule, peptide, oligonucleotide, and multimodal CDMO services. This role is responsible for identifying high-value opportunities, building strong relationships with biotech and pharma clients, and securing complex development and manufacturing programs that support company's revenue goals. The Senior Director partners closely with internal technical and operational teams to shape client solutions, manage the full BD cycle from prospecting through closing, and strengthen company's presence across key territories.

responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand the company's reach and impact
- Foster long-term relationships with clients using existing networks and other sales tools to grow the client base
- Maintain close contact with key decision-makers at customer organizations across different departments
- Lead project acquisition - negotiate contracts, generate client proposals and bids, and close deals to meet business objectives
- Collaborate with colleagues from various areas to develop tailored solutions and encourage internal cross-departmental cooperation
- Attend and participate in key conferences to enhance company visibility and identify new opportunities / Travel 50%
qualifications:
- Minimum BSc in a Life Sciences discipline; MSc or PhD preferred
- 8-12 years technical experience in pharmaceutical/biotech or CDMO environments and/or 8-10 years proven business development experience
- Proven experience selling including in one or more of the following;
- small molecule,
- large molecule/biologic,
- peptide & or oligonucleotide multimodal CDMO services, with the ability to position differentiated capabilities across modalities.
- Demonstrated ability to drive complex, multi?modality partnership structures and expand strategic accounts across diverse therapeutic platforms.
- Demonstrated record of success in business development including large and complex partnership and/or licensing transactions
- Demonstrable understanding of the drug discovery and development process
- Strong understanding of the drug discovery and development process, including IND, clinical phases, and NDA pathways
