responsibilities:
- Microscopically examine and diagnose gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides for infectious, pre-malignant, and malignant disease processes.
- Assist clinical teams with Rapid On-site Evaluations (ROSE) for fine-needle aspiration (FNA) procedures.
- Document daily interpretations, including total slides screened and hours spent, in strict alignment with CLIA mandates.
- Input and report diagnostic findings into the laboratory information system while ensuring complete patient confidentiality.
- Comply with all local, federal, HIPAA, CLIA, and CAP regulations.
qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory, physical, or biological science.
- Eligibility to meet CLIA requirements (CFR. 493.1483).
- Liquid-based cytology training or certification (ThinPrep preferred).
- ASCP registry eligible (must pass the ASCP Cytotechnologist registry exam within one year of hire).
- Proven experience with FNA adequacy procedures.
