A Mechanical Project Lead Engineer is needed for an engineering consulting company in the Cary, NC area. This position will lead mechanical design and coordination for pharmaceutical facility projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, managing HVAC/plumbing systems, and serving as the client-facing representative for all mechanical aspects.

responsibilities:
- Act as client liaison for mechanical systems on pharmaceutical projects.
- Lead the design and coordination of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines for a cohesive design.
- Oversee the project design from requirements gathering to completion.
- Manage design staff and monitor adherence to budgeted hours.
- Interface with code officials and design professionals to clarify or adapt design standards.
- Proficient in cGMP, ISO, and ISPE standards.
- strong understanding of HVAC and hydronic systems.
- Familiar with HVAC and pumping control strategies.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be effective with clients and internal teams.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
- At least 15 years of experience in mechanical engineering within pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industries.
- Hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
