Reputable and growing organization is looking to hire (direct hire) an Explosives Specialist in the Springfield, MO area. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry is required.
This opportunity comes with a very appealing compensation plan commensurate with experience with a base salary ranging from $130k to $140k plus an annual bonus. Relocation assistance is available.
The ideal candidate should possess experience with explosives or energetics or munitions or EOD (explosive ordinance disposal) along with safety training and writing work instructions.

responsibilities:
Production support
- Assist with maximizing product flow efficiency to ensure explosive waste is processed safely and effectively for incineration or other destruction methods.
- Be the process specialist for process issues, improvements, new process changes.
- Lead on-site R&D and new business opportunities to develop dismantling and disposal of new waste streams, including demil activities for munitions requiring disposal.
- Responsible for leading the generation of work instructions for all operations on site
- Participate in TRT, MACT and other company facilities' meetings to ensure proper waste processing and destruction in a manner safe to human health and the environment
- Assist company proposals with bids for material going into company facilities or partnership locations, including pricing for demil activities prior to disposal of explosive hazardous waste material.
- Review and assist with company facilities' incoming waste streams to ensure conformance with operations specifications such as: waste profile requirements; special packing requirements; historical receipt characteristics; and intended processing methods
- Visit customer sites and/or participate in calls with commercial for large and/or problematic waste streams
- Act as specialist for explosives processing and destruction at all company facilities and/or Joplin partnership locations
- Develop plans and perform hands-on disassembly of off-normal munitions on site when necessary
- Aid in training and understanding of explosive handling, explosive disposal, and explosive disassembly.
- EOD experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related technical fields
- Minimum ten years related experience (five years acceptable if experience is dedicated to explosives disposal)
