A VP of Warehouse Operations is needed for a transportation and logistics organization. The VP will lead and expand the company's warehousing and distribution operations. This role is pivotal in driving process modernization and operational efficiency while overseeing day-to-day logistics activities.
The ideal candidate must possess extensive leadership experience in logistics, manufacturing, or similar fields, managing teams of 200+. They should demonstrate a track record in developing and using operational metrics and management dashboards to enhance productivity, along with proven P/L responsibility and expertise in pricing and costing models. Proficiency in executing short-term operational plans and long-term growth strategies is essential, ideally supported by certification in Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.

- Strategize and implement warehousing and distribution solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve productivity.
- Drive the development of tailored warehousing and transportation solutions that meet specific customer requirements.
- Improve overall productivity by identifying and implementing best practices and optimizing key processes like inventory and order fulfillment.
- Direct daily operations for warehousing, packing, facilities, and security teams through effective scheduling and work distribution.
- Expand business opportunities by identifying new revenue streams and fostering relationships with key customers.
- Cultivate a customer-centric environment within the distribution staff.
- Contribute to talent development initiatives to build and retain a high-performing distribution team.
- Proven working experience leading teams of 200+ people in logistics, manufacturing, construction, or similar industries.
- Experience in both developing and using operational metrics and management dashboards specifically focused on people and asset productivity.
- Experience with P/L responsibilities and developing pricing and/or costing models.
- Experience developing and executing near-term operational plans and long-term growth strategies.
- Certifications in Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- BA/BS degree in supply chain, engineering, business or other related field required.
- MBA preferred.
