A Senior Electrical Designer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Ogden, UT area. An experienced electrical designer is needed to lead the design and modeling of complex electrical systems for DoD infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with NEC and IEEE standards while mentoring junior staff and collaborating across disciplines.

responsibilities:
- Lead and review work of electrical designers/drafters; prepare 2D/3D CAD models and construction drawings.
- Develop complex electrical designs: grounding, drainage, foundation, cable trays, conduit, and more.
- Model electrical systems in SmartPlant 3D, including lighting, duct banks, receptacles, equipment layouts.
- Perform lighting and grounding calculations using AGI 32 and ETAP.
- Review scope changes, participate in constructability reviews, resolve design conflicts, and visit jobsites.
- Develop and manage material specs and bill of materials using SpecsIntact.
- Mentor junior designers; ensure quality standards and schedule adherence.
- Proficiency in SmartPlant 3D, AutoCAD, SmartSketch.
- strong understanding of NEC, NEMA, ANSI, IEEE standards.
- Experience with electronic cable management systems like SETROUTE.
- Electrical system design experience in nuclear/industrial/data center/DoD facilities.
- Clear written/verbal communication and problem resolution skills.
- Familiarity with SpecsIntact, AGI 32, ETAP, and ISO-9000 quality standards.
- Collaboration with engineering teams; capable of independent design development.
- AA/AS degree or Engineering/CAD Certificate plus 7-8 years experience or
- 9-12 years equivalent experience.
