A Production Planner is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Canton, NY area. This role manages and optimizes supply planning, inventory, scheduling, and material flow in a manufacturing environment to support on-time product delivery and operational efficiency.

responsibilities:
- Interpret engineering plans and production specs to establish supply and capacity plans.
- Use capacity models to create tactical operating plans that drive manufacturing and supply chain activities.
- Develop supply plans based on inventory targets, safety stock, and order policies, monitor performance against these targets.
- Provide shipment commitments and handle customer order and schedule change requests.
- Monitor supply plan execution and develop recovery strategies for potential delays.
- Manage inventory, including slow-moving and obsolete product identification and resolution.
- Prepare cost proposals for customer requests; support New Product Introduction and conduct cost analysis post-launch.
- Contribute to financial reporting: revenue forecasts, RTS forecasts, and committed order tracking for revenue recognition.
- Assist in developing manufacturing plans for annual budgets.
- Support standard cost-setting annually.
- Measure and report key performance indicators (Delivery, Inventory, Quote Response).
- Demonstrated performance in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
- Scheduling and planning experience.
- Familiarity with Supply Chain Systems Software and SAP (S4 HANA).
- strong analytical skills and IT tool competency.
- Organized and process-oriented with problem-solving capability.
- Understanding of manufacturing principles and technical specs.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and act decisively under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Associate's degree with relevant experience (Bachelor's preferred in Technical, Business, or Supply Chain).
- 1-3 years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, or related fields.
