An Electrical Engineer is needed for an American defense, aviation, information technology, and biomedical research company in the Tewksbury, MA area. The role involves designing, developing, and supporting complex analog and digital electrical systems for advanced security detection products within a collaborative R&D environment.

responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop chemical detectors using Ion Mobility Spectrometry.
- Design and integrate electrical/electronic systems for chemical trace detection products.
- Generate design specifications, schematics, PCB layouts, and system documentation.
- Translate conceptual designs into complete, production-ready solutions including cables and connectors.
- Develop test procedures and fixtures for validation and production support.
- Work with global teams including CAD/PCB designers and technicians.
- Promote best practices across the engineering organization.
- Proficient in all stages of circuit design, development, testing, and documentation.
- strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across functions (engineering, business, operations, manufacturing).
- Experience in Analog signal processing (high-gain, low-noise circuits, op-amps, ADCs), High-speed digital systems, FPGAs, clock domain management, Mixed-signal ASICs, FPGA finite state machines, MCU hardware and embedded software design, Altium Designer for schematic and PCB layout, Hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.).
- Bachelor's (10+ yrs exp) or
- Master's (8+ yrs exp) in Electrical Engineering or related field.
