A Transportation Coordinator is needed for the world's largest food and beverage. Remote work, but candidates must be located near St. Louis, MO, Denver, CO, Crete, NE, Davenport, IA, Clinton, IA, or Flagstaff, AZ for training purposes. However, this position will primarily support the WEST region. This job will Coordinate freight logistics to ensure on-time delivery and manage carrier and customer communication.

responsibilities:
- Follow up on loads daily to confirm on-time delivery or apply correct reason codes for delays.
- Track loads in FourKites and update system with delivery changes.
- Ensure freight coverage daily, exceeding Purina's on-time pick-up and delivery standards.
- Maintain professional communication with carriers; approve accessorial charges; manage difficult situations.
- Maintain professional communication with customers; promptly and courteously handle service issues.
- Manage financial procedures: detention, benchmark rates, cost control, and automation objectives.
- Contact carriers to get load status and monitor shipment progress.
- Tender loads to carriers ensuring proper routing guide compliance.
- Notify appropriate teams of supply issues and coordinate resolution.
- Schedule appointments with shippers/receivers and update TMS/SAP/WMS.
- Consolidate customer orders into full truckloads when possible.
- Review and correct EDI 214 errors.
- Manage and process customer returns.
- Handle carrier detention and accessorial charges approvals/denials.
- Manage on-time performance and reason code accuracy.
- Set up EDI and Carrier Portal access for new carriers.
- Conduct training sessions for carrier contacts on portal use.
- Minimum: High School Diploma (college preferred).
- 2+ years customer service experience in manufacturing or transportation.
- Proficient in web-based systems (SAP, Microsoft Excel, etc.).
- strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Execute product transportation using Transportation Control Tower tools.
