An E&C Engineer is needed for a utility holding company in the Earth, TX area. This job will lead complex engineering projects by applying advanced technical expertise in design, development, and testing of systems or structures, while serving as a subject matter expert and providing strategic direction, quality oversight, and cross-functional collaboration.

responsibilities:
- Design, model, develop, and test machines, structures, or systems.
- Develop functional and technical requirements for engineering projects.
- Apply standard engineering principles across project work.
- Create simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs.
- Design and test components, integrating them into final products.
- Monitor product quality and process efficiency.
- Evaluate designs for effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety.
- Investigate failures and recommend improvements to maintain quality.
- Serve as the technical project engineer or subject matter expert (SME) for a specific area (function, facility type, equipment, or product).
- Lead major projects or multiple complex projects with moderate to large scope.
- Act as the internal technical expert on assigned projects.
- Initiate assignments independently with minimal formal oversight.
- Provide technical direction and leadership to engineering teams, technicians, and professionals.
- Maintain internal and external technical relationships.
- Apply extensive technical expertise and a high-level understanding of related disciplines.
- Contribute to the development of new engineering principles, concepts, and standards.
- Develop procedures, codes, and standards in areas of significant complexity.
- Lead self-initiated, strategic assignments with long-term business impact.
- Manage multiple critical projects, including: Design, Equipment selection, Installation, Startup, Commissioning & Progress evaluation
- Participate in bid and proposal evaluation processes.
- Represent the organization in technical communications internally and externally.
- Provide guidance and oversight to engineers, interns, technicians, and craft personnel.
- Coordinate budgeting, estimating, forecasting, accounting, and work order management related to engineering projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (or recognized equivalent).
- 9+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- PE (Professional Engineer) registration is preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate advanced technical skills and core competencies appropriate for this senior engineering level.
