An Engineering Technician is needed for an American defense, aviation, information technology, and biomedical research company in the Tewksbury, MA area. This role supports engineers by collecting and handling technical data through hands-on testing with aviation security equipment, assisting with data management, and operating test systems, including lifting test articles and working in Linux-based environments.

responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to engineers on projects and/or products.
- Collect, organize, maintain, and manipulate technical data.
- Assist with creating, modifying, assembling, and repairing prototypes.
- Prepare documentation such as reports, drawings, schematics, flowcharts, and diagrams.
- Perform mathematical calculations based on engineering specifications.
- Support the data collection team focused on aviation security equipment (e.g., x-ray, mm-wave systems).
- Receive training to operate scanning equipment for testing and data gathering.
- Use internal tools to extract and copy test data from systems.
- Possibly support basic data engineering tasks.
- Preferably have familiarity with Linux-based operating systems, though it's not required.
