A EHS Manager is needed for one of the world's largest power management and power generation services companies in the Linden, NJ area. This job is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and New Jersey environmental, health, and safety regulations, managing critical permits, leading safety programs, and driving continuous improvement in environmental and operational safety performance within a high-risk power generation facility.

responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with federal and New Jersey EHS regulations (OSHA, RCRA, CAA, NPDES, etc.).
- Develop and implement site-specific EHS programs and policies.
- Manage critical environmental permits (Title V, POTW, SWPP, SPCC).
- Maintain OSHA VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) certification.
- Lead EHS initiatives and foster a strong safety culture.
- Conduct audits, risk assessments, and safety training.
- Oversee continuous improvement of EHS performance.
- Collaborate with operations to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Serve as site liaison for regulatory agencies and community stakeholders.
- Keep up to date with evolving regulations and requirements.
- Implement fire prevention and chemical handling procedures.
- Support EHS Management Systems and site performance scorecards.
- Participate in and support the site's Safety Committee.
- Conduct compliance assurance audits and equipment reviews.
- Prepare and submit regular compliance and performance reports.
- Coordinate with contractors to ensure site EHS compliance.
- Act as liaison to emergency responders and Local Emergency Planning Committee.
- Represent the company in community and industry EHS matters.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental compliance, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Level 5 HAZWOPER certification preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of EHS experience in a power plant or similar industrial setting.
- Deep knowledge of environmental legislation (CAA, NPDES, CWA, RCRA, TSCA, OSHA, DOT, NJ regulations).
- Title V air permits, POTW permits, SWPP & SPCC plans.
- Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Management Programs (RMP), Toxic Release Inventory (TCPA).
- Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and Data Acquisition Handling Systems (DAHS).
- Managing agency inspections and regulatory disputes.
- OSHA VPP compliance and certification.
- Skilled in EHS training delivery.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project.
- strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical abilities.
- Effective at multitasking and decision-making in a complex industrial environment.
