A Maintenance Planner is needed for an American corporation that manufactures agricultural, construction, and forestry machinery, diesel engines, drivetrains (axles, transmissions, gearboxes) used in heavy equipment, and lawn care equipment in the Waterloo, IA area. The Maintenance Planner coordinates, schedules, and supports all maintenance activities in a manufacturing facility by assigning tasks, managing parts inventory, and ensuring preventive maintenance compliance.

responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule ongoing and preventive maintenance for plant equipment and facilities.
- Receive and prioritize maintenance requests across the facility.
- Assign maintenance tasks to non-skilled, semi-skilled, and skilled trades personnel.
- Provide daily work direction and occasional supervision to maintenance personnel.
- Offer technical support by reviewing procedures, identifying parts/tools, and sourcing drawings.
- Order and purchase necessary parts, materials, and services; secure quotes and issue POs.
- Track inventory usage and maintain cost-effective inventory levels.
- Generate maintenance reports and update preventative maintenance logs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and ANSI standards.
- Collaborate with external vendors for both recurring and non-recurring activities.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to support maintenance and operations.
- Proficiency with computer systems (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read schematics and interpret geometric dimensioning.
- Familiarity with manufacturing/distribution, safety, and tooling practices.
- AA, BA/BS, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Technology, or Maintenance.
- 1-3 years in maintenance-related roles in manufacturing or operations.
- Experience working with mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems.
- Mechanical/electrical aptitude.
