Direct hire- Full time, Gary, IN- Metallurgical Engineering Manager is needed for a client local to Gary, IN. Base salary + 16%, benefits, 401 K, responisble for a plant that holds over 360 people. Reports directly to the VP of Quality. Full relocation assistance is available. Must have Metallurgy background.

responsibilities:
Position requires solid metallurgical skills and abilities to provide technical advice and direction to the organization.
- Interface with customers on all quality-related issues as needed.
- Interface with the Technical Services Group on translating customer quality requirements to the mill and advising on claims.
- Interface with the Application & Routing Groups to translate customer quality requirements to mill practices, routings and setups for satisfactory production.
- Interface with the Operating Group to translate customer quality requirements to mill practices and recipes for satisfactory production.
- Interface with the Commercial Group to translate customer quality requirements to mill practices and procedures for satisfactory production and provide guidance on inquiries for products outside capability.
- Provide leadership and technical advice to the Contracted Met testing labs in servicing ustomer needs as well as regarding internal trials for product/process changes.
- Provide leadership and direction to the entire organization regarding ISO/Quality Assurance issues and certifications. Perform other related work, as required.
- Responsible for management of corporate risk as it relates to product quality.
- Evaluating and dispositioning any questionable or nonconforming material as required by working with Planning, Operations, Shipping, Technical Services, Sales, Accounting, and any other disciplines, as necessary.
