A Document Control Specialist is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Oneonta, NY area. This role is responsible for managing the creation, maintenance, and distribution of quality management system documents, ensuring all records and processes comply with ISO and other regulatory standards.

responsibilities:
- Manage and administer quality management system documents and records for Life Sciences processes.
- Initiate and manage document changes, distribution, and notifications for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Generate, review, and maintain various quality documents, such as procedures, work instructions, and certificates of conformance.
- Ensure all documentation is compliant with ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and 21 CFR 820 standards.
- Initiate Change Controls and Document Change Requests to update procedures.
- Collaborate with different departments to update and refine processes.
- Assist in managing document review and retention processes.
- Support or lead continuous improvement projects related to document control.
- Provide support to other Quality Assurance functions, including internal audits and CAPAs.
- Education: An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, with a preference for a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience with document management software (e.g., ETQ) is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or other Quality System standards.
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 and 21 CFR 820 Quality Management Systems is highly preferred.
- Must be detail-oriented and accurate.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
