A System Control Engineer is needed for a company that produces electronics and HVAC equipment for buildings in the Arlington Heights, IL area. This role involves the design, configuration, and commissioning of comprehensive building control systems, requiring technical expertise, project coordination, and strong communication skills to ensure successful operation and customer satisfaction.

responsibilities:
- Design and configure complex building control systems based on contract documents.
- Develop and test software programs for system operation.
- Create technical documentation including flow diagrams, electrical schematics, and network layouts.
- Communicate design and operational details to customers, consultants, and installation teams.
- Coordinate the creation of drawings, equipment schedules, and material orders.
- Supervise material delivery and coordinate factory-mounting processes.
- Assist with system loading, commissioning, and validation of functionality.
- Provide field change information for as-built drawings and software updates.
- Keep project stakeholders informed of progress and issues.
- Assist in training customers on the building control system.
- Perform value engineering to ensure cost-effectiveness while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Proven knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry.
- Knowledge of control theory, building automation systems, and other building subsystems.
- Experience integrating low-voltage building subsystems using protocols like LON and BacNet.
- strong computer skills, including drafting tools.
- Ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with 2+ years of experience, or
- An Associate's degree in a technical field with 5+ years of experience.
