Large utility is looking for a Gas Construction Manager in Hamilton, MI. This is position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a project's construction phase, requiring experience with gas facilities and remote valve installation, a minimum of 3+ years in oil and gas, strong management and organizational skills, and an understanding of relevant safety codes and standards.

responsibilities:
- The Gas Construction Manager is responsible for monitoring and managing the safety, scope, cost, and schedule of a project's construction phase.
- They report directly to the Project Manager, and all project team members and contractors report to them during this phase.
- The manager ensures that construction adheres to applicable company and industry codes and standards.
- They facilitate pre-construction meetings with an emphasis on safety and report daily progress to the Project Manager.
- This role involves supervising contract inspectors, resolving issues, and coordinating the testing and startup of equipment.
- They are responsible for developing a punch list, obtaining sign-off for the turnover checklist, and assisting with O&M manuals and asset lists.
- The manager also ensures that as-built redline drawings are submitted to Engineering and emergency plan redlines are turned over to all responsible parties with acknowledgment.
- Finally, they must compile and submit closeout documentation.
- Candidates must have extensive knowledge and experience in gas facilities construction, field operations, and equipment operations, with a preference for at least 3 years of experience in Oil and Gas.
- Experience with Remote Control Valve & Pressure Limiting Device Installation is also required.
- The ability to qualify for required tasks under PHMSA/MEA operator qualification rules and an understanding of the Michigan Gas Safety Code and Federal Part 192 standards are essential.
- A bachelor's degree or applicable experience is required.
- The ideal candidate has an electrical trades background or an electrical engineering degree.
