A Quality Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Mossville, IL area. This quality engineer position requires an experienced professional to perform and document validation testing for electrical charging power systems, ensuring product quality and reliability through a combination of technical analysis, problem-solving, and communication.

responsibilities:
- Devise sampling procedures.
- Design and develop forms for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality/reliability data.
- Establish programs to evaluate the precision and accuracy of production, testing, measurement, and analytical equipment.
- May write and conduct training on quality control.
- May specialize in various areas of quality control engineering (e.g., design, process control, product reliability, software, etc.).
- Perform validation testing to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Deliver high-quality products to customers.
- Work within the Electrification & Energy Solutions Division in Peoria, Illinois.
- Ensure successful validation testing of electrical charging power systems (15kW to 2MW DC output; 120V to 13.8kV AC input).
- Write validation test procedures.
- Perform validation testing and analyze test data.
- Write and present post-test data analysis reports.
- Education Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering (BSME or BSEE preferred), or a related technical field. A Master's or PhD is a plus.
- Experience Required: Minimum 2-4 years of related experience. For candidates with a Master's or PhD, 1 or more years of experience may be considered.
- Internships/Co-ops: Experience must be directly related to be considered.
Required:
- Academic and/or industry experience with failure analysis of mechanical and/or electrical technology.
- Experience applying problem-solving to create solution plans.
- strong technical skills and a desire to learn continuously.
- Self-starter who requires minimal supervision and anticipates issues.
- Proficiency in MS-Office and MS-Project.
- Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD).
- Experience in a test environment with power electronics, AC/DC battery chargers, or similar technology.
- Experience with design, risk analysis, and testing of electrification components/systems.
- Troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
- Experience with hand tools and electrical diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, amp meters, megger tester).
- Experience with data collection and analysis using CANape.
Required:
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
