A Lead Technical Designer is needed for a multinational corporation that is involved in the design, development, manufacturing, and worldwide marketing and sales of athletic apparel, equipment, accessories, and services in the Beaverton, OR area. This job will be responsible for the full product lifecycle, from initial concept to production, focusing on the fit and construction of global football apparel while collaborating with various teams and ensuring quality, timely delivery, and a consumer-centric approach.

responsibilities:
Product Development & Documentation:
- Create and revise Tech Packs for complex styles.
- Maintain documentation, including product specs and prototype notes.
- Drive and execute fit and construction standards to ensure product consistency.
- Lead fit sessions both in-house and on-site.
- Track and facilitate prototyping to ensure on-time delivery.
- Identify and address key issues in construction and manufacturing.
- Work with factory vendors to ensure and improve manufacturability.
- Collaborate with Design, Product Management, and manufacturing teams.
- Monitor and communicate product testing progress and challenges.
- Partner with design on concept ideation and athlete feedback sessions.
- Stay informed on market trends, new technologies, and consumer needs.
- Ensure projects meet corporate guidelines and goals.
Professional Experience:
- 8+ years of technical design experience in the apparel industry.
- Experience with the full apparel development process, from inception to production.
- Knowledge of pattern making, grading, construction, materials, and quality.
- Expertise in writing product specs and construction standards instructions.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator, CAD software (Optitex), and 3D software (Clo/Browzwear) is highly desired.
- strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience interpreting design intent and acting as a technical resource.
Education: Bachelor's degree in technical design, textile science, or a related field (additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
