An Engineering Technician is needed for a leading global engineering, consulting and construction company in the Overland Park, KS area. This senior-level engineering technician position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience with AutoCAD Electrical (ACADE) and Substation Design Suite (SDS), with mandatory substation industry experience, to independently perform advanced drafting functions, ensure quality and compliance, and provide technical guidance to other team members.

responsibilities:
- Perform advanced functions using electronic applications, standards, and document control processes.
- Create and modify project deliverables.
- Apply knowledge of engineering standards, guides, and policies.
- Maintain and improve quality by reviewing design inputs and ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
- Broaden the use of applications to improve methods and processes.
- Develop design concepts and create project deliverables.
- Perform computations for material quantities and estimates.
- Coordinate deliverables with other project teams.
- Support field activities and project finalization.
- Focus on internal and external client needs.
- Proactively seek and share knowledge of new technologies.
- Provide technical guidance and work direction to other engineering professionals.
- Diploma, Certificate, or Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience with AutoCAD Electrical (ACADE) and Substation Design Suite (SDS).
- Must have experience in the substation industry.
