A Quality Technologist is needed in the Somerset, NJ area for one of the world's largest cosmetics company, with activities spanning skin care, sun protection, make-up, perfume, hair care and hair color. This role provides technical quality assurance support to manufacturing and external vendors by conducting tests, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

responsibilities:
- Provides technical support to production units and quality labs to ensure compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements.
- Samples, tests, and inspects finished goods, packaging components, and bulk batches according to company methods and specifications.
- Records test results in SAP, writes SMI books for new product launches, and maintains all quality system documents and records properly.
- Performs SCOOP audits to identify and correct issues, and issues NCMRs (Non-conformance Material Reports) as appropriate.
- Troubleshoots defects on production lines and assists operators with inquiries.
- Maintains positive relationships with contract manufacturers and collaborates with production and logistics planners on testing priorities.
- Ensures laboratory test equipment is maintained and calibrated.
- Follows FDA and ISO guidelines and observes all plant safety programs.
- Nonconformance process knowledge.
- strong computer skills, knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Pass results for color and odor tests.
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering Degree, or equivalent experience in Manufacturing with strong emphasis in quality.
- Experience with compliance to FDA and ISO guidelines including SOPs, auditing, and documentation requirements is highly desirable.
- Experience in statistical sampling and conducting tests on packaging components, bulk and finished goods.
