Large utility is looking for a Engineering Analyst in Royal Oak, MI. This job is for a Senior Engineering Technical Analyst who, with a minimum of 3-10 years of experience and skills in GIS, GPS, and natural gas distribution systems, will support on-site construction projects by documenting field changes and collecting asset data. responsibilities:
- Integrate with operations and construction teams on gas distribution projects.
- Ensure projects are completed according to plan.
- Use GPS and GIS technologies to collect as-installed asset information for record development.
- Assist with complex construction issues requiring positional relationships.
- Document in-field changes.
- Develop and maintain documentation for integrated systems (hardware, applications, protocols).
- Participate in meetings (Operating Reviews, pre-construction meetings).
- Understanding of natural gas distribution systems, including construction, design, safety practices, and regulations.
- Proficiency with GIS software (ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, etc.).
- Experience with GPS antenna hardware and software.
- Familiarity with surveying control practices.
- strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
- Teamwork, analytical thinking, and a willingness to learn.
- Bachelor's Degree with at least three years of related experience.
- Associate's Degree with at least six years of related experience.
- High School Diploma with at least ten years of related experience.
- Utility locator experience is required.
