A Manufacturing Engineer is needed for one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products in the Simpsonville, SC area. This Manufacturing Engineer role is responsible for developing and improving lean manufacturing processes for cable and integrated assemblies, leading new product introductions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency while also troubleshooting PLC issues and managing continuous improvement projects.

responsibilities:
- Develop and troubleshoot PLC hardware and software issues.
- Lead new product introductions through production, ensuring they meet cost, delivery, and specification requirements.
- Identify and acquire all necessary tools, equipment, and fixtures for manufacturing.
- Work with the operations team to improve efficiency through process innovation.
- Eliminate waste to improve both manufacturing and business processes.
- Develop, design, and acquire new equipment to enhance productivity, efficiency, and safety.
- Collaborate with EH&S (Environmental Health & Safety) to resolve ergonomic and other safety concerns.
- Maintain excellent documentation of process changes and follow change management procedures.
- Analyze data and collect information to perform root cause problem-solving.
- Identify, assess, and manage continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience with PLC hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Project management skills, especially for new product introductions.
- Ability to analyze data and perform root cause problem-solving.
- Experience in applying Lean principles.
- Proven application of Lean Manufacturing tools.
- Experience in writing work instructions.
- Knowledge of Military and Aerospace regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Experience in new product introduction (NPI) or product lifecycle processes.
- Working knowledge of cable and harness assemblies.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Experience with document control programs like PDM.
