Manufacturing Quality Engineer needed for an immediate 9 month+ contract opportunity in the Augusta, GA area!
Qualified candidates should possess a BS Degree in Engineering, or have 3+ years of related Quality experience in a manufacturing environment. The right person for this key role will have the ability to implement and drive robust countermeasures for identified root causes that lead to quality improvement of both product and processes. THis person will work closely with Manufacturing, displaying a passion for critical thinking to quality issues and perform analysis on data to drive continuous improvement activities!

responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert and coach on the use of structured problem-solving tools: 5 Why, 9-Step, A3, etc
- Apply critical thinking to quality issues and perform analysis on data to drive continuous improvement activities
- Work closely with Manufacturing and other support groups in areas of quality system compliance and containment
- Update the document control system by providing updates to appropriate Work Instructions, Quality System Procedures, and Standard Work.
- Serve as project manager for any assigned projects
- BS Degree in Engineering, or have 3+ years of related Quality experience in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity and understanding of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Quality Management Systems
- Understanding of Lean Principles, Six Sigma, and other problem-solving methods and tools
- Good understanding of consumer products, high volume lean manufacturing, and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes
- Excellent computer skills, analytical skills, planning and project management skills, as well as written and verbal communication.
