A Material Planning Manager is needed for a global healthcare leader that discovers, develops and distributes therapeutic solutions focused on patient's needs in the Swiftwater, PA area. This job is responsible for using a system like SAP to plan and order materials, manage inventory to prevent shortages, and coordinate with both internal teams and external vendors to ensure a smooth and efficient production supply chain.

responsibilities:
- Material Management: Plan and order materials to support production and R&D activities.
- Inventory Optimization: Manage inventory levels to balance material availability and cost, while minimizing the risk of stock-outs, obsolescence, and expiration.
- Shortage Prevention: Work with factory teams to identify potential material shortages and develop solutions to prevent production delays.
- Documentation & Processing: Process Material Disposition Orders (MDOs) for obsolescent or rejected materials and handle invoicing issues.
- Logistics Coordination: Interface with logistics teams and vendors to resolve delivery discrepancies, coordinate returns, and prioritize material releases.
- Supplier Relations: Develop and manage working relationships with suppliers by sharing forecasts and understanding their processes.
- Reporting & Analysis: Analyze department metrics related to inventory turns, drivers for inventory level changes, and MDO status.
- Strategic Support: Participate in critical materials management initiatives and support efforts to mitigate single-source supply risks.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Logistics/Supply Chain, or a technical/science field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Certifications (Preferred): APICS Certification in Inventory Management (CPIM) or Supply Chain (CSCP).
- strong understanding of MRP/ERP planning concepts.
- Experience with SAP.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel for data analysis.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage complex vendor relationships.
