A Logistics Coordinator is needed for the world's largest food and beverage company in the Dekalb, IL area. This Senior Logistics Coordinator role is responsible for the end-to-end management of freight orders, from planning and carrier selection to tracking and on-time delivery, while collaborating with various teams to ensure efficient and effective transportation operations.

responsibilities:
- Manages transportation load planning and order management before a shipment goes out.
- Oversees specialized recovery and ensures on-time delivery.
- Efficiently executes product transportation using available tools.
- Collaborates with a variety of internal and external teams (e.g., customer service, carriers, facilities).
- Makes independent, informed decisions and escalates issues when necessary.
- Handles day-to-day carrier management and initial carrier selection.
- Addresses and resolves conflicts and discrepancies professionally.
- Monitors on-time pick-up and delivery.
- Tracks shipments in transit and identifies potential risks.
- Manages shipment data and appointments accurately.
- Handles confidential information with discretion.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external customers.
- strong communication (verbal and written), analytical, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- The ability to handle shifting priorities and thrive in a team environment is essential.
- High School Diploma, with a college education preferred.
- Preferred experience in transportation and/or logistics, a fast-paced office environment, and customer service.
