A world-known EPC firm is looking for a Transportation Design Lead in Raleigh, NC. Candidates must have a BS Engineering degree and extensive roadway design experience. Must be a current PE in North Carolina and have a working relationship with North Carolina's Department of Transportation. The main focus is leading a transportation design team. Client/Business Development is also part of the position as well. Relocation, salary and full benefits.

responsibilities:
Manage a team with annual project revenue exceeding $10 million, including some of the highest profile projects currently in progress within the state.
Lead key projects as a Project Manager and act as a key client contact.
Assist project teams in technical guidance and growth.
Encourage professional growth for all members of the team.
Ensure that project work plans are developed and acted on.
Manage workload to ensure project staffing needs are met.
Participate in reviews of schedules, budgets, project milestone dates and work products.
Ensure financial performance of projects are managed and delivered on.
Assist managers in proactively identifying potential problem projects to ensure remedial actions are promptly taken.
Monitor and enforce compliance with established quality control standards, ensuring that appropriate quality assurance activities are being performed throughout the area of responsibility.
Review project QC plans and periodic QA compliance audits on current or recently completed projects.
Assist with contract negotiations with clients and sub consultants.
Ensure oversight of team accounts receivable and client billings.
Staff Administration -
Assist TPO management in identifying staffing needs based on future workload and manpower projections.
Leading efforts to recruit, hire, and develop staff.
Manage recommendations for salary offers for new hire candidates as well as salary and position adjustment actions for staff.
Conduct semi-annual performance reviews and annual career planning sessions with direct reports. Provides staff with ongoing performance feedback and counsel to promote improved performance and career development.
Help staff identify and pursue technical and professional development activities consistent with their career development goals and business objectives/needs.
Establish, nurture and grow client relationships.
