We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for a variety of underground utility projects, including the installation of water, sewer, and storm drain systems. This role is crucial to our pre-construction efforts, helping us secure new projects while maintaining our reputation for efficiency and safety.

responsibilities:
- Assist senior estimators in reviewing project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work
- Perform quantity take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment required for underground utility projects
- Gather and analyze proposals and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
- Help prepare and compile detailed bids and cost proposals
- Maintain and update a database of project costs, materials, and labor rates
- Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project requirements
- Assist in post-bid reviews to identify areas for improvement
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred
- 3-5 Years experience with estimating for underground utilities
- Basic understanding of construction principles and practices, particularly in civil or utility construction
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, B2W Estimate) is a plus
- Analytical and mathematical skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
