An energy technology company looking for Senior Civil Structural Engineer in Richland, WA. Remote work. Its a 12 months duration. This is a senior civil structural engineer role requiring at least 8 years of experience in the energy sector, including 5 years in power plant design and 3 years in a leadership position, to perform structural analysis, ensure code compliance, and lead the development of new nuclear plant projects.

responsibilities:
- Develop civil engineering activities for new nuclear plants.
- Provide system design deliverables (e.g., specifications).
- Perform structural analysis and calculations for nuclear plant safety-related structures.
- Ensure designs comply with specific codes like ASME B&PV Section III Division 2, AISC N690, and ACI 349.
- Analyze and resolve thermal stress issues in reactor containment.
- Define hydrodynamic input loads for containment structures.
- Create engineering reports and licensing documentation.
- Communicate with customers, suppliers, regulators (including the NRC), and partners on technical issues.
- Lead design analyses and verifications for BWR (Boiling Water Reactor) structural systems.
- Develop drawings and specifications to meet engineering and quality standards.
- Collaborate with quality personnel on process and material approvals.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
- At least 8 years in the energy business, preferably nuclear.
- At least 5 years of direct design, development, and deployment experience in power plants for complex, high-reliability, and harsh environments.
- At least 3 years in a program or technical leadership role.
- At least 3 years working with customers, regulators, and suppliers.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
- Master of Science (MS) or PhD in Civil Engineering.
- Experience in nuclear power plant construction.
- strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with steel plate composite structures.
- Working knowledge of ACI, ASCE, and AWS codes.
