A Production Planner is needed for one of the world's largest suppliers of aerospace and defense products in the Bohemia, NY area. This is an experienced Production/Materials Planner role responsible for managing supply and demand, improving planning processes, and ensuring product availability and business performance for the Interiors division.

responsibilities:
- Reports to the Senior Materials, Planning, & SIOP Manager.
- Responsible for supply and demand planning.
- Improves systems and processes for products within the Interiors organization.
- Develops financial sales and inventory forecasts with an internal team.
- Uses analytical skills to improve planning processes and manage projections.
- Manages scheduling and monitors production dates.
- Plans, schedules, and maintains sales plans and production orders.
- Creates and maintains work orders.
- Conducts Can-Build analysis.
- Analyzes pre-order requests for material and labor availability.
- Requires a university degree with 5+ years of experience, or
- An advanced degree with 3+ years, or 9 years of relevant experience without a degree.
- Prior experience working within the aerospace industry in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Prior experience with production and/or material planning and forecasting operations preferred.
- Advanced user of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to utilize formulas, pivot tables etc. to manipulate large data sets.
- Basic understanding of bill of materials and drawings.
- Working knowledge of continuous improvement (Lean) activities is preferred.
